A passion for helping children and families is what led her to Rainbows. And the great staff in the Infant/Toddler Department is what kept Alexia Foster at Rainbows for the past eleven years. Alexia began working at Rainbows United in April 2002.
Alexia is a licensed clinical social worker and obtained her Master’s degree from the University of Kansas. “I love working with children and their families in the home,” Alexia said. She is currently the Assistant Site Coordinator and Infant Toddler Services worker. “As the assistant coordinator I support the staff, review files, help out with department meetings, and work on evaluations.”
Among her multiple accomplishments over the last 11 years, Alexia regards her job overall as a huge accomplishment. “When I became assistant coordinator two years ago, part of my responsibility was to improve outreach with the medical community. I feel that I have accomplished that, but that I still have more work to do.”
Working at Rainbows United has impacted Alexia in her own life in regards to her children. “The training I have received has made me a better parent overall.”
Alexia has a number of favorite memories. In general, she really enjoys her job. She especially enjoys connecting families to a Rainbows’ therapist who has a wealth of knowledge regarding early childhood. She cherishes all the memories of connecting families to community resources that enable children and families to reach their fullest potential.
In addition to working at Rainbows, Alexia loves spending time with family, especially with her two kids, ages 19 and four.
