Linda Cathey’s mother was a pediatric nurse and, growing up, Linda loved going to work with her to play with the children. In high school, Linda began volunteering with the Special Olympics. These experiences led Linda to pursue a career as a physical therapist assistant at Rainbows. Linda has served at Rainbows more than 17 years.
“I love getting to work alongside the parents and caregivers and sharing in their journeys,” Linda said.
Linda is a Wichita State graduate and is a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician as well as trained to fit children with special needs into car seats and medical seats. She works to keep Rainbows a Certified Child Passenger Fitting Station.
“Traveling safety for children with special needs is a passion of mine,” Linda said.
Linda works with children birth to three in their homes and childcare centers in Sedgwick County as part of Rainbows’ Infant/Toddler Services program.
“Each time I see a child reach a milestone it’s exciting, but I think the most fun is seeing a child take their first steps,” Linda said.
In her free time Linda spends time with her husband and 3 sons. They enjoy planning and going on mission trips.
