Morgan Tilson Weber spent the summer of 2021 making memories for herself and her Camper, Judah. As Judah’s Direct Support Professional, Morgan brought Camp Woodchuck into his home and created a summer filled with new experiences, laughter and care.
“We went to the zoo and he loved it,” said Morgan. “The water and ducks were probably his favorite. Judah definitely enjoyed being outside riding his bike, enjoying water play and the splash pad at home. We also watched bubbles outside and he thinks they are so magical!”
Morgan worked with children throughout high school, and during college began working with children who have special needs. In 2016, she worked with a boy who had special needs, and that experience inspired her to find a job working with children and young adults with special needs and to pursue a degree in elementary education with special education.
“I found Rainbows when I started looking for a summer job during college and knew it was a perfect fit,” said Morgan. She began working as a Direct Support Professional with Camp Woodchuck and is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in elementary education with special education at Wichita State University.
During the school year, Morgan works at Maize Elementary with grades Kindergarten-3rd in the structured learning classroom. She will be graduating college next spring with her degree. Morgan is part of the Teacher Apprentice Program (TAP) at WSU that allows her to work full time in a school setting while doing all her courses online.
“My biggest achievements are the patience and love I have learned from every child I work with,” said Morgan. “There are so many memories I have from working at Rainbows, but the best stories are how happy the kids get when we go on field trips, play outside and accomplish new goals!”
Morgan got married in April 2021. She and her husband, Luke, went to Hawaii for their honeymoon! Morgan’s hobbies and interests include animals, plants, cooking, swimming and hanging out with friends and family. Morgan, her two brothers and sister grew up in Wichita, but her siblings now live in different cities or states. She loves getting together for family events and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
