Robert Allen Baumgartner (Bob) age 94, born on December 16, 1927 in Chicago, IL, passed away on December 12, 2022 in Florissant, MO.
Beloved husband of the late Patricia Jean Baumgartner (nee Mitchell); loving father of Cheryl (Dr. Julian Nick) Verde, Valerie (Kenneth) Davidson, Jan (Craig) Baggett, Mary (Ronald) Battocletti, James (Diane) Baumgartner, Paula (Jay) Dingess; dear grandfather of Dr. Michael (Dr. Kimberly) Twyman, Jeffrey (Jessica) Twyman, Kerri (Robert) Atkinson, Kristy (Jon) Baumgart, Timothy Davidson, Kelli Baggett (Jared Cowen), the late Andrew and Adam Eckert, Clinton (Amy) DuClos, Benjamin (Ashlee) Battocletti, Rachel (Vincenzo) Povero, Grant Baumgartner, Jaclyn Baumgartner, Chelsea (Aaron) Ward, Patrick Dingess (Courtney Rondeau); great-grandfather of Taylor, Addison, James, Kendall, Rylan, Kira, Arika, Mylee, Brayden, Haylee, Wyatt, Hudson, baby girl Povero; dear brother of Jack; an uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army in Korea 1946-1948. He was a member of the Florissant Valley American Legion Post 444, KWVA Chapter 4, and 31st Infantry Association (Life Member). Bob was a lifelong stamp collector, an avid St Louis Cardinals and Blues fan, bird lover, Meals on Wheels volunteer, faithful member of Atonement Lutheran Church of Florissant, and a Boeing Corporation retiree.
A visitation for Bob was held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with funeral service at 11:00 am at Kriegshauser Mortuary-West Chapel, 9450 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132 with a graveside service following at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 11101 St. Charles Rock Rd, St. Ann, MO 63074 with full military honors.
