Leaders from Cessna + Beechcraft by Textron Aviation joined Rainbows United at Kids’ Cove in February to do some helpful work on our gazebo, raking leaves, repainting building numbers, and preparing activities for summer camp. Volunteer groups like Textron help keep Rainbows United prepared for the mission of enhancing the lives of children with special needs and their families by bringing together community resources and providing customized services. Rainbows serves children from birth to age 21, providing essential services that include early intervention, specialized childcare, and targeted therapies.
After the Rainbows leadership team gave a tour to Textron leaders of the facility that supports our annual summer camp, the group worked tediously to help cut, staple, paint and prepare activities for youth this summer.
“Textron Aviation is committed to enriching the communities where our employees live and work. Our strategic and creative approach to community engagement lays a solid foundation for meaningful impact. We are grateful to volunteer with organizations within our communities such as Rainbows United to continue investing in the places we proudly call home. – Lauren Howell, Textron Communications Associate

Rainbows loves connecting with corporate volunteers and individuals
Volunteers can serve in numerous roles, each vital to the organization’s success:
– Classroom assistance, working alongside professional staff
– Special event coordination and support
– Administrative tasks and fundraising initiatives
– Maintenance and facility upkeep
– Family support services
Individual Volunteers
Individual volunteers can choose from a wide variety of options. Rainbows has many needs in the classroom, outdoors, and around the office. Special projects often also require volunteers.

Group Volunteers
Volunteer groups support Rainbows through work projects (cleaning, gardening, building), classroom activities (games, art, mentoring), and special events (field day, dance, fundraiser). Projects are matched based on participant age, availability, and agency needs.
