What an exciting time as we look forward to the 5th Annual Rainbows’ GLOW Run | Walk to take place Saturday, April 16 in Augusta. It was just a few short years ago that Rainbows explored the idea of adding a new fundraiser to the mix – and now we’re celebrating 5 successful years! The Run | Walk event was the brainchild of energetic staff and committed volunteers that evolved into a unique way to increase awareness and connect families to Rainbows’ services in Butler County.
The first year, 2012, more than 250 participants came out and the event raised $6,700 in support of children with special needs and their families. Last year’s numbers show the consistent growth of the event with more than 700 registrations, 130 volunteers and more than $21,000 was raised. More than $58,000 has been raised over the last 4 years with a goal of $25,000 this year. “It’s great to have the support of the Butler County communities for this event,” said Deb Voth, President of Rainbows United, Inc. “It is wonderful to have so many businesses, individuals and families come together to make a difference for children with special needs and their families.” Special thanks to sponsors who jumped in the first year and have remained faithful for all five years: Art of Life Chiropractic, Cox Machine, El Dorado Clinic, Bill & Lisa Farris and Deb & Kent Voth. “We feel strongly about supporting our community and this is a great way to have some fun, get great exposure and make a difference for children and families who are our friends and neighbors,” said Dr. Marcus Deaver, Art of Life Chiropractic.
In honor of the five year anniversary, the event sports a new look and theme thanks to Koch Creative Group who came up with the “You GLOW, They Grow” theme with terrific graphics for posters, billboards, social media, t-shirts, and more. Online registration is open and there are some incentives currently available. Those who sign up before April 4 will be entered to win 2 tickets to The Band Perry concert ($80 value). Once you are registered, check social media for more on sponsors, family stories, and profiles on the amazing Butler County professionals that provide services across the County.
