Camp Woodchuck 2018 has officially kicked off and we couldn’t be more excited. Summer is of course our favorite time of year!
This summer, Camp Woodchuck’s theme is Movin’ & Groovin’. It’s been fun to watch both the staff and kids interpret the theme. I’ve found it really depends on the decade you were born as to your interpretation of the Movin’ and Groovin’ theme. We have room decorations that highlight the various decades of music from the 1950’s all the way to today’s top hits. From Madonna to Metallica, my favorite Movin’ & Groovin’ decade is definitely the 80’s!
Each day the campers will participate in activities that range from crafts, science projects, games, dance parties, singing, field trips and most important, making friendships. Annually we look forward to our special events; The Mini Carnival, Fashion Show, Talent Show, Art Show, the shaving cream war and choir performances in the community. One of my favorites is the talent show. You never know who is going to shock you with their hidden dance skills or air guitar performance!
This year 109 children will be served by Camp from June 4-July 31. We are fortunate to have 115 full and part time staff, plus one full time volunteer and a VISTA volunteer. If you see us at one of our special events or out and about in the community, stop and say hi!
