When Lisa’s son Leif wasn’t meeting his developmental milestones, she was unsure of what to do or what to look for as a first-time parent. When she discovered Rainbows, not only did her son get the early intervention he needed to make progress, but she found encouragement and hope as well.
“Rainbows supported me by finding methods that helped my son progress in the ways he learns best and gave me confidence as a parent. This program was just what we needed, exactly when we needed it,” said Lisa. “As a single parent I was very unsure of what to look for and what to do when I noticed Leif was behind the milestones.”
Rainbows’ early interventionist Leslie English worked with the family. She helped Leif learn new tasks and shared creative ways to set goals and help Lisa work with her son to make progress.
“His speech/language skills are much better and he has grown in the ways he communicates beyond using words as he increases his vocabulary,” said Lisa. “Rainbows provided foundational ways to support Leif and guided us through the transition into the school system.” She thanks Leslie for answering all her questions and how she never felt judged or criticized. She says, “I have felt nothing but love and support for myself and my son.”
Leif and Lisa like to spend time outside at the park when the weather is nice. Mother and son both enjoy reading books, listening to music, and eating the same snacks!
