Liam is two years old. He was born two months prematurely and spent the first six weeks in the hospital. Liam receives speech/language services through Rainbows’ Sumner County early intervention program. He was referred to Rainbows by his doctor, due to challenges with eating.
“Liam is eating way more and so much better than before,” said Kayli, Liam’s mom. “He will try more foods now.” Liam absolutely loves working with Rainbows. “It’s really made a huge improvement with his growth, and we love seeing our baby boy growing in so many ways.”
Liam’s previous therapist, Kristen, said that he is “a spunky little guy who lights up the room with his smile. ‘It has been such a privilege to work with Liam and his parents, Kayli and James,’ said Kristen. ‘Kayli is a strong advocate for Liam, and it has been such a joy to be a part of their journey cheering on each new milestone Liam accomplishes!’”
Liam had a rough start to life with a hole in his heart. “I had to have an emergency C-section, due to his heart rate dropping so low,” said Kayli. “Liam spent the first six weeks in the NICU, and it was rough, but he’s growing like a weed, and doing fantastic. He’s a fighter and loves life.”
“We absolutely love Rainbows,” said Kayli. “Both Kristen and Rebecca have been amazing to work with, and they really care and respect the families and the kids.”
Liam really likes to go to the zoo. “We take Liam to as many zoos as we can,” said Kayli. “He adores animals. We love to spend time outside and travel as a family. If Liam can be outside, that would be his favorite place. He loves watching his daddy work outside with tools. Liam is our only pride and joy.”
Liam is the light of our world. He is such a people-person and is incredibly smart. Outside of Rainbows, Liam enjoys playing outside, playing with his dogs, going to the zoo, taking a shower and a bath, and going swimming. He loves trucks. “Liam is just the most incredible little man,” said Kayli. “He has gone such a long way in two years. Liam may be small, but he’s got the heart of the world.”
