Nehemiah

An outgoing eleven year old boy

Nehemiah is an outgoing eleven year old boy who loves his family, and SpongeBob. At an early age Nehemiah was diagnosed with a blood disease that left him in a wheelchair, using a G-tube, taking multiple medications, and with developmental delays.

Nehemiah’s mother, LaDonna was referred to Rainbows by his pediatrician to access Rainbows’ early intervention services at Connecting Point. By the time Nehemiah was six months old, he received services once or twice a week from Rainbows’ Infant-Toddler staff until he transitioned to Kindergarten.

Since then Tanita, Nehemiah’s case manager, has helped his family apply for a Technology Waiver to receive more specialized care and respite care. “She does a wonderful job being our case manager”, says LaDonna. “She has helped us receive services we didn’t even know were out there. She always communicates with us to make sure we have everything we need.”
