GARY ROTHE

Rothe, Gary Lee passed away in Wichita on November 20, 2018, age 83, after his third battle with cancer. Gary is survived by his wife, Joan, his children, Randall (Gwenn), Ronald (Yvonne), Richard (Tina), and Rhonda Davis (Tony Kane), brother, Davy, sister, Twyla, and sister, Nyla, 7 grandchildren, Ronnica (Doug), Riley (Amanda), Caitlen (Dorian), Caryn (Brent), Drew, Jacy and Tory, and 5 great-grandchildren, Brooke, Martin, Nolan, Kaylee, and Ewan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Mabel Rothe. Gary was born in Great Bend, KS, and in 1952 graduated from Ness City High School. In 1956, Gary married Joan Randall. The couple moved to Hutchinson in 1959, where Gary started a successful floor covering company. After several years in Hutchinson, the family moved to Little River to provide the kids farm life experience with livestock and a huge garden. Eventually, the family moved to Maize, KS and West Wichita. Gary spent his last working years as a Food Broker Supervisor. Gary was a gentle, joking and patient father who encouraged his children to pursue their goals. He was extremely proud of their accomplishments. Gary, with Joan, enjoyed attending every event of each child or grandchild and always enjoyed sharing stories about his family and looked forward to their visits. A memorial is scheduled for December 29, 2018 from 12 to 4 pm at Prairie Pines, 4055 N. Tyler Rd., Maize Ks, with a luncheon. All are welcome.
