When Grace was born without eyes, her parents were overwhelmed with fear, unsure what her future would hold or how to care for her. Rainbows gave them more than support. It brought comfort, guidance, and the promise of a brighter future.
Grace’s parents, Florence and Magara, remember the early days vividly. “I cried a lot,” Florence says. “I did not know how to care for her. I was afraid.”
Through Rainbows, they met Sandra, an occupational therapist who came each week with patience and understanding, teaching them how to connect with Grace, describe the world she could not see, and celebrate every milestone. Today, Florence beams, “Grace knows our voices now. She is not afraid anymore. She plays, she listens, she loves.”

For 53 years, Rainbows United has enhanced the lives of children with special needs and developmental delays across Sedgwick, Butler, and Sumner counties, serving more than 4,100 children and their families annually.
This season, will you extend your kindness with a gift of $25 so more children like Grace can receive the early support they urgently need?
Because the compassion of a caring community can change what is possible for a child and family in their greatest moment of need.
Grace’s story is but one example of what your gift of $25 makes possible. Learn if your employer matches charitable gifts and how your kindness can go even further. It could double the impact you provide.
Thank you for considering a gift that brings possibility to a child and peace of mind to a parent.
