The new Linda Weir-Enegren Legacy Society was announced during the Holiday Reception on December 10, 2013. This designation will honor all lifetime donors of $200k or more. These individuals and corporations have provided extraordinary support of the children and families of our community and commitment to continuing the legacy of our founder, Linda Weir-Enegren.

Honorees: Bank of America, Boeing Company Charitable Trust, Cessna Aircraft Company, Cox Communications, Cox Machine, Emprise Bank, Fugate Enterprises, Star Lumber Charitable Trust, Grant and Katie Stannard, Hale and Janie Ritchie, Jack and Luanne Ritchie, Intrust Bank, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, K.T. Wiedeman Foundation, Kansas Health Foundation, Koch Industries, Lattner Family Foundation, Spirit Aerosystems, Steve and Janis Cox, J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation, United Methodist Health Ministry Fund, Wichita Community Foundation, Wichita TOP Children’s Fund and the United Way of the Plains.

Honorary member of the Linda Weir-Enegren Society is Margaret Shook. She is a living example of Rainbows’ mission and honors the legacy that Linda laid the foundation for more than four decades ago. Margaret has been involved with Rainbows since 1978 when her son Brandon started school with Rainbows. She has presided over more than 35 Blarney Breakfasts – securing sponsorships, volunteers and donations for the event – not to mention serving countless cups of coffee and pancakes! She also laid the foundation for Fashion Passion through her relationships at Bradley Fair. There is rarely a day that goes by she isn’t asking for a donation or recruiting a volunteer for Rainbows.
