Isaac Huffman

Direct Support Professional

Isaac’s favorite hobbies are reading, playing video games, and hanging out with family and friends. “My family has been working with kids who have special needs, especially my mom for 40 years,” Isaac said. “Working with the kids has been the biggest part of our family for a long time.”

Isaac Huffman is a Direct Support Professional at Rainbows. He has been volunteering with children and adults who have special needs since he was 12 years old. “When I found a summer job here at Rainbows, I instantly found a connection with the children and adults,” Isaac said. Isaac enjoys the shaving cream fights and all of the field trips he gets to go on with the kids. He has been working at Rainbows for two years. “Isaac is a great addition to Camp Woodchuck,” said Tiffany Graf, the Family Support Services Coordinator. “We really enjoy having him. He works really hard to form relationships with the kids and support the rest of his team.”

Isaac’s biggest achievement at Rainbows is connecting with the kids at a deeper level. “Last year was pretty new for me connecting with the kids, and this year, I feel like I know them a lot better and I have a better relationship with them,” Isaac said. A normal workday for Isaac is to eat breakfast with the kids, hang out, go on field trips, eat lunch, and hang out some more. “A couple of the kids enjoy swinging on the swingset outside,” said Isaac. “That helps break up the day.”

“My favorite part of my job is watching how everyone interacts with each other. That is pretty cool to see. The funniest kid I like to work with is Miles. He is hilarious, except when he gets upset.”
