Leslie Stevens is a Mental Health Specialist at Rainbows United. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kansas State University and has always had an interest in behavior. Leslie also has a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Friends University. In 2010, Leslie completed training from the Kansas Institute of Positive behavior support which she considers one of her biggest achievements.
“I truly value the Mental Health Team! …They are very supportive and WAY fun to work with,” said Leslie. “I really feel as a team we have accomplished some pretty great things.” Leslie works with children 0-5 in the home or during school and spends a lot of time at Rainbows partner organization, TOP Early Learning Center Northwest.
“I have seen several children come to Rainbows at age 3 and older who have not yet begun to walk or talk. To see them gain these skills and witness such an incredible change to their development and social skills, it is truly a privilege to watch,” said Leslie. Working at Rainbows has affected Leslie’s perspective of children, parents, and families and has even affected the way she interacts with her own children.
Leslie lives a very active life and loves to spend time with her family.
