Around the holiday season you may see or hear the term #GivingTuesday. We have a day of giving thanks, a day of getting deals, #GivingTuesday is a full day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 1 charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for the sole purpose of celebrating giving. #GivingTuesday is a movement to celebrate giving and encourage better and smarter giving during the holiday season. This global event was first introduced in 2012 with tremendous success and we are proud to be a partner again for 2015. Last year we raised $1,800 in just 24 hours. This year our goal is to raise $2,000 that will go to benefit children with special needs served through Rainbows. We can’t reach our goal without your help! Here’s what you can do to help make this initiative a success on December 1:
- Visit our online donation site at http://bit.ly/GivetoRainbows. Share the link with your friends and family and help us celebrate 24 hours of giving!
- Tag @RainbowsUnited on Twitter and use #GivingTuesday in tweets to encourage friends and family to participate.
- Share a personal story about why you support Rainbows United on Facebook, tag @Rainbows United Inc.
- Share a photo on Instagram, tag @RainbowsUnited and #GivingTuesday
This year, Atlas MD will be a matching sponsor between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. and Salon 535 at The Perfect Touch will be a matching sponsor between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., meaning every amount given during that time will be doubled. The Wichita Thunder will also provide a pair of game day tickets to the first 50 people that donate.
