Who doesn’t love a taco?! The graduating class of 2023 at Rainbows United helped us to celebrate all things taco and festive (including sombreros, taco pinatas and churro bars) with “Taco ‘bout a Future” as this year’s theme. We had hoped to have the ceremony outside as in years past, but the Kansas weather did not cooperate. However, rain couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the students as they belted out the songs “Ready to Go” and “I’m a Little Graduate” in front of a large group of friends and family.
This year was particularly bittersweet because 8 of the 13 graduates have been with us since the infant room. Early tentative steps, first words, potty training and writing their own names- what a pleasure it has been to watch them reach so many milestones along with their families.
It is also touching to see how many families have created their own friendships outside of our walls and I hope they will continue to be a part of each other’s lives. Regardless of how long each student’s time has been here at Rainbows, they are all part of the Rainbows’ family and will all be so missed!
So, in closing, as one of our graduates said several times during the ceremony, “Put your hands together and clap” for the 2023 Rainbows United Pre-K Graduates!
