Prism Award for Outstanding Staff

Tori Price accepts the 2013 Prism Award from Board Chair, Jeff Jabara.

This year Rainbows established a new yearly award specifically to recognize our amazing staff who are nominated and chosen by program coordinators. The group initially nominated 20 individuals and slowly narrowed it down. From this talented group, Tori Price, physical therapist, was selected as Rainbows’ first Prism Award winner for 2013.

Tori is an outstanding staff member who demonstrates excellence in many of the Guiding Principles and reflects quality and value in the work she does with children, families, and the community. Tori started at Rainbows as a college student, she developed a passion for helping people and set out to get a degree that would allow her to do just that. As soon as Tori received her doctorate in physical therapy, she applied for a job with Rainbows United’s Infant/Toddler Program. As a primary provider, Tori helps families access community resources and services within Rainbows by bringing additional staff on home visits whenever needed. Tori is a life-long learner. When an issue arises, Tori educates herself to develop the skills to overcome it, She can, in turn, share this with team members and support families and their children.

Tori works hard to make things better for others. This includes not only Rainbows’ families, but the community in general. As the 2013 Prism Award winner, Tori’s name will be placed on a plaque to be displayed at Kids’ Point where other future winners’ names will be added each year. Tori also received a token of appreciation as well as a check for $1,000.
