Helen Healy served on the Rainbows United, Inc. board of directors for 21 years and is currently serving as the Vice Chair of the Rainbows United Charitable Foundation.
Her passion for the organization and helping children with special needs and their families began in 1981 when she first joined the board at the urging of her friend, Charlie Wilson. The early meetings were held in the Ritchie Family Center basement and she remembers annual trips out to visit Proctor Ritchie to ask him to help keep the doors open. Now, several decades later, Helen continues to support the organization because of the people, both the children and adults. “Everyone is totally dedicated to helping the children, who truly need their help. The teachers and staff put the children ahead of everything. That is real dedication.”
We are so very thankful for Helen’s long and storied history with the organization. Rainbows would not be what it is today without her ongoing support and enthusiasm for the cause.
