Kim Stewart strives to make a positive change in the lives of people that she works with. She is a speech language pathologist for Rainbows’ Bright Beginnings in Butler County. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Kansas State University and a master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders for speech-language pathology from Wichita State University. “Rainbows has made me a better person, I think I am more understanding and compassionate,” she said. Kim has been an employee at Rainbows for over 10 years.
Kim lives in Emporia and drives to El Dorado each morning as the sun is coming up. During her therapy sessions, she evaluates, treats, or does hearing screenings for children 0-3 in their natural environment, which takes her all over Butler County. “I have children to see in El Dorado, Towanda, Whitewater, Potwin, Burns, Rosalia, Leon, Latham, Benton, and Elbing…I see children both in town and out on dirt roads. I see some children in their homes, child care centers, or foster homes,” said Kim. She chose to work as a speech language pathologist because she enjoys working with children and their parents.
Kim and her family are very active and love to travel. Some of her favorite trips have been to Ecuador, the Galápagos Islands, and Europe. In the United States, they like traveling to national parks. Kim is a huge Kansas State football and basketball fan. Kim and her husband Bob have one daughter who participates in many sports and activities they enjoy watching.
