Michelle joined the Rainbows’ team as Early Education and Child Care plus CBETS Coordinator in August 2015. She brings 23 years of social work experience with her from the Salvation Army, Department of Children and Families, and the Wichita School District. Michelle holds a social worker license and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Wichita State University.
“Learning all of the staff’s names, without confusing them,” Michelle jokingly replied when asked about her biggest achievement at Rainbows this far.
Michelle chose to bring her talent to Rainbows because she was familiar with the mission and the work Rainbows does. “I was familiar with Rainbows because my son was served through ITS in 2005 for speech therapy,” said Michelle. “The tricks Rainbows taught me to use to get him talking were super successful. My son talks a lot now, so we like to talk about when he didn’t talk.” Michelle credits Rainbows for her son’s amazing progress.
When Michelle is not busy learning the ropes at Rainbows, she likes to read, practice yoga, and spend time with her two sons.
“I am definitely looking forward to a long relationship with Rainbows,” said Michelle.
