Wichita State’s Future Health Care Professionals

The Future Health Care Professionals from Wichita State University brought a volunteer group to Rainbows’ on Thursday, September 29. Future Health Care Professionals (FHCP) is a recognized student organization at Wichita State, hosted by the College of Health Professions.

FHCP provides leadership, developmental, and intentional co-curricular experiences for its members pursuing a degree in a health professions field. Students from all areas of healthcare including Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nursing, Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, Pre-Med, Dental Hygiene, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Public Health Sciences and any other pre-medical careers are encouraged to join.

Members of this organization have the opportunity to listen to great speakers, get involved in volunteer activities, help with fundraisers, network with other students interested in the health care field, and participate in charity work.

This visit to Rainbows was apart of their most recent community service work. While at Kids’ Point, FHCP members got to interact with two 3-5 year old classrooms, integrating into everyday activity. From reading, to center-time, to outdoor play – the kids loved having this group at Rainbows! Thank you for visiting, we hope to see you again soon!

Rainbows is a huge fan of volunteers, and is always thrilled to engage groups who have an interest in learning more about Rainbows’ services, wish to make a difference in the lives of children in the local community, and want to help with agency fundraising events throughout the year. We could not do what we do without the consistent volunteer support that we receive!
