Early Care and Education Teacher Demonstrates Guiding Principles

Autumn Hutchison Honored with Prism Award

This year Rainbows honored Autumn Hutchinson, a well-respected Early Childhood Special Education Teacher in our Early Care and Education Program at Kids’ Point, with the Prism Award. The criteria for this employee award are to demonstrate Rainbows Guiding Principles, be an example in the role they fulfill for Rainbows; demonstrate leadership; make children and families their highest priority; and represent Rainbows in a way that reflects positively on the entire organization.

Autumn’s love for the children and her creativity when helping them learn makes Autumn a leader at Rainbows. She often shares helpful strategies with parents and staff. Always a team player, Autumn does not hesitate to assist when called upon to have her class sing to special guests or make a special craft for guests, volunteers and partners to enjoy.

A typical day for Ms. Autumn involves leading a classroom of around 15, 3-5 year-olds through activities, meals, and play – all the while helping them learn to interact positively with one another. Her creativity and commitment to providing the best experience for the children is an inspiration. She is always coming up with new ways to engage the kids. Autumn’s co-workers recognize her strengths and the benefit she brings to a classroom.

“My favorite thing about Ms. Autumn is her resilience,” said Michelle Croomes, Early Care and Education Coordinator. “She has a unique ability to deal with the children and their needs as they present themselves in the moment.”

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Leadership Team, and staff of Rainbows, it is a great pleasure to congratulate Autumn Hutchinson as the 2024 Prism Award Winner. Congratulations!
